Ghee is a byproduct of milk, which is enriched with high nutritious value and health benefits. International demand for ghee is forecasted to grow in upcoming years. Countries like US, Pakistan, France are leading global consumers of ghee. Awareness about medicinal value of ghee will escalate the global demand for ghee in upcoming years. Whereas, India has been leading manufacturer and consumer of ghee. Ghee is an unavoidable factor in Indian cuisines which had made a strong competition in Indian ghee market. Nambisan’s dairy pvt. Ltd has been prominent manufacturers of ghee. They have a turnover of INR 2268 lakhs and has been a leading brand in ghee market especially in south India. They have established a great brand loyalty in mind of consumers by delivering the promised quality and taste of ghee. The marketing of the dairy products is dependent on key factors such as perishability, seasonal production variation, processing facilities, the balance between production and demand, and value addition at farm level. With their benefits of easy transportation and higher shelf‐life, ghee products find high demand among consumers. Marketing is rooted in making awareness about the product among consumers and building brand loyalty in consumers mind. And it also involves understanding consumer demand about the product, and attitude towards the product. This internship was a useful experience. I have gained new knowledge, skills and met many new people and achieved several of my goals. I got insight in to a professional practice in marketing. Also I have learned different facets of working within a marketing field. NAMBISAN’S DAIRY PVT LTD has offered me opportunities to learn and develop myself in many areas. I have gained a lot of experience, especially in the event planning field. A lot of the tasks and activities that I have worked on during my internship was such that I could apply my theoretical knowledge. This internship was oriented in marketing in different areas including urban, semi urban and rural areas. And which gave me idea about variations in demand of the product based on different areas. By developing a marketing plan, I did lot of research where to find the best way of marketing an event. I have also learned many things about viral marketing by using and learning about social media tools. As a bonus, I got to experience the event planning process. I learned how the marketing and promotional activities occur. I also learned how the administrational process occurs by maintaining contact with the venue, vendors and sponsor partners. Before my internship started my ideas did not match the experiences have gained during my internship. There is a big difference in the school projects and the tasks and activities during the actual work. In school I learn how to describe the work in projects, where in work, you learn how to implement them in reality. This internship was definitely an introduction to the actual work field for me. I have learned to work in a business organisation and apply my knowledge into practice. I have learned a lot from the different interns that I have been working with during my internship. Each intern had a different educational background and that made it interesting for me. My mentor during my internship was Mr.V. JAYACHANDRAN (Regional Sales Manager) who supported me whole heartedly. He was very helpful and always willing to give me advice and feedback which I appreciate. I have tried to learn as much as possible from him and the interns during my internship. This internship was definitely beneficial for me and I’m grateful and thankful that I got to experience and learn many things
