Step 1

Look at your own background: Basic degree , then how much you are able to score in each of the 1st year papers and which one you scored best according to you. This together throw some light on which area you could possibly excel in Internship

Step 2

Discuss with your project coordinator and get a list of projects that previous batch students have done. This will give an initial peep into the kind of companies where your seniors have accessed. You can use these and information from your parents and relatives to pin down on a list of companies that you can approach for internship in your preferred functional area of business, location , paid , free and also  fees charged. Many PSU companies in Kerala charge a fees for Internship/Final Project by MBAs on their premises

Step 3

Actually step 3 is a parallel process with step 2. Your guide must be appraised at all stages and pin down on possible topics in the functional area of business;

Step 4

Get introductory letter from college and submit through proper channel in the selected company; get conformation letter from the company

Step 5

Submit copy of confirmation letter to project coordinator at the college. keep extra copy for your guide and the Dept/section  head of the company and keep the original intact so that it can be part of your final report

Step 6

Give the Initial information report(IIR)  with a copy and a copy of the confirmation letter to your guide. It is preferable to have complete the industry profile and company profile before commencement of the Internship immediately after obtaining the confirmation letter.

Step 7

On the day of reporting to your company, inform your guide in a suitable manner . Ensure that your guide has given the  copy of the IIR to the project coordinator marking the day of reporting at your company. This seals the record of having started the Internship

Step 8

Prepare detailed project proposal specifying clearly what you are going to study at your internship and get approval from your industry guide and submit it to your faculty guide. You have to incorporate their suggestions into your actual work and modify the document, as desired by them. Now the direction is clear and you are ready to start.

Always keep a diary and note down points of discussion, learning, experiences, flops, mistakes, errors etc.

Step 9

Post weekly report duly signed with name, designation of the reporting officer at internship and office seal of the company guide to your faculty guide

Step 10

Always give an emphasis to documentation. You can have pictures of yourself in action (subject to approval of company people)

eg: you are in a sales project and doing content marketing at an exhibition stall. A photograph of site activity that you are engaged in adds value to your report.

You are making a presentation to an audience during the course of your internships of the event is a possibility

You are having discussions with highly placed officers in your company. A photograph of the meeting showing the participants in action would be ideal.

Avoid profile pics; activity is focus of all photographs
